Make a Difference and Volunteer with Gaston Fire & Rescue

Gaston Fire & Rescue volunteers including adults and teens (14-17)  serve their community in various roles. Regular firefighters can respond to emergency calls and support medical responses. 


Non-emergency roles like community outreach, auxiliary, fundraising are also available. 


The cadet firefighter program offers teens hands-on training and teamwork, fostering pride, honor, and community impact.

Membership is open to individuals ages 14-17 for the Cadet Program, while adults can join as full members with various roles in fire, rescue, or support services.

No prior experience is necessary! We provide all the training and equipment you’ll need to serve safely and effectively.

Members are encouraged to participate in regular training sessions and be available for emergency calls as much as possible. Time commitments can vary based on availability and role.
